It was pouring rain and I'd gone to Vancouver without an umbrella, so I stopped into this gourmet grocery store. It was perfect: ambient lighting, well-stocked with umbrellas and all the necessary high-priced ethnic foods. There was even a nice cafe full of nearby condo-dwellers, despite the fact that Starbucks and several hundred other coffee houses were down the street. To think the old Vancouver was a town of lumberjacks and hippies.
