Vancouver is the city that spawned Greenpeace and Adbusters. One of its sons coined the term "Generation X". It is young and socially conscious and that tends to seep through into everyday life. This used to be an ordinary residential street; now it has been handed over to the people, lined with benches and made into a real space.
