It&#039;s a bit like POME/POMMY there are many explanations - most useful I&#039;ve heard is CHeltenham AVerage - Cheltenham&#039;s quite pucker - how now brown cow, oh do take me home james - thus the &#039;average&#039; Cheltenham citizens are the polar opposite.

Think shaved heads, adidas (or stone washed jeans)-wearing, foul-mouthed, lager-louts.</description>
