		<description>I think it will only be a matter of time before the Spacing people who put out uTOpia turn their attention to the TTC (beyond buttons, of course). 

I&#039;m still waiting for a collection of stories, essays and photos that will do justice to one of Canada&#039;s great transit systems.</description>

		<description>Great article!  Thankfully, Toronto was smart enough to keep its streetcars.  Montréal&#039;s Métro was once a major source of modern civic pride for the city.  Built in the 60s, not much has happened since the days when the predicted web of lines was going to criss-cross the entire island.  Since the last addition in the 1980s, the only thing that is being built is a big fuss over three additional stations.  Toronto and Montréal should capture the value that the Tube gives to London and the Métro gives to Paris.  These are true symbols of civic accomplishment and pride.  A good book about the demise of public transit in North America and its car-ridden results is given in Richard Bergeron&#039;s book, &quot;Les québécois au volant - c&#039;est mortel&quot;.</description>
