Yep, Grounded is by far my fav coffee spot in the city. It's a combination of Great Coffee & Relaxing Environment That I like the most. The first photo at the top of this page tells it all! In fact, I think I'll go to Grounded for a coffee & biscotti right now. To be continued.........

Given that there's no "real" Doug Camilli anyway -- it's popularly assumed to be a nom-de-plume for Gazette editorial type Brian Kappler -- and that I doubt he reads blogs...no it's not him ;)

The stroller mom thing is endemic to gentrifying neighborhoods in Brooklyn (Park Slope to be specific); it refers to a certain type of affluent newcomers to the neighborhood who have a certain sense of overweening entitlement granted by parenthood...they wield their designer strollers like they're SUVs, without any regard for other pedestrians, and/or insist on bringing children into ostensibly 'grown-up' environments like quiet coffeehouses and even bars, to name what some Brooklynites are peeved about. It's not all moms, just some...

Amazing. Apparently I passed that place twice a week all of last summer and never went in. And to think, I had been searching for a good area coffee shop the whole time.

Thanks.
