I lived across the street from Harji's green grocery from 1984 to 1989. When he told me that he was an Ismaili Muslim, I heard "smiley Muslim" and thought that was very appropriate.

Beautiful reminiscence. I have the honour of knowing Harji, too, through local Indian cultural events. (And I saw his slide show on the Sudan portion of his bike journey.) A sweet person who always has a hug for you - and so a great example of multicultural Park denizens past and present.
