Christopher Szabla has been a contributor to Urbanphoto since its founding in 1999. He was born near Buffalo, New York, and moved to Boston in 1997, where he was content to find urbanites who took pride in their heritage, only to flee to New York City when this became insufferable. He enjoyed Manhattan’s charming social vernacular of hostile misanthropy while studying history at Columbia University, but inexplicably returned to study for a law degree at Harvard. He tries to escape as often as possible, and has lived for brief periods in Brooklyn, Berlin, and Cairo.
