Dusk is
probably the best time of day for an urban
photographer. The transition from daylight to night offers a style and atmosphere
unmatched in its vibrancy.
The lighting is perfect.
It is the only time of day when a
city’s interiors
merge
with the streets.
The lighting is such that the
interiors are accessible and visible, but unlike at night, are not
yet the only (or dominant) attraction. Perhaps it combines the best
of both: daylight and a city’s lights, working together. Add
pedestrians and activity -- present in any decent city -- and you’ve
got a captivating fusion
These photos were taken all
across Toronto, at various times over the last couple years.
